Background and Training
I am a clinical social worker with experience and training in the treatment of a broad range of mental health concerns, problems of living and relationship difficulties.
In addition to my private practice, I work at Toronto’s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, a major teaching hospital. As an educator, I am Adjunct Professor at both the University of Toronto and McMaster University where I am involved in the supervision of social work students and the teaching of medical students.
I initially studied social work in South Africa earning a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of the Witwatersrand and later received my Masters of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo.
I have done extensive additional training and completed the Advanced Training Program in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Toronto Psychoanalytic Society. I am also trained in Interpersonal Therapy for Depression and have studied Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples. I am recognized for my expertise in the treatment of Trauma and have completed training in the treatment of Dissociative Identity Disorder.
I am a Member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers as well as being registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I am a Guest Member of the Toronto Psychoanalytic Society.
